Gleaming / Phil Evans
Gleaming is a 30-minute projection loop by artist Phil Evans. Each scene is hand-painted on tiny Super 8 film, then scanned frame by frame and arranged into free-flowing animations. Working at a microscopic scale, Evans creates images whose true textures reveal themselves only after the film has been scanned. This process leaves room for surprise, giving the work a lively, unpredictable quality shaped by both control and chance.
