Opatija Skate Culture of the ’90
This video project takes us back to the summers of ’95 and ’97, capturing a slice of skate life from that era. The footage, originally shot for Opatija’s UPVT series (Uske Pantalone Veliki Točkovi), features mostly unused clips and rare moments that didn’t make it into the final films. Assembled earlier this year, the video follows a loose “day in the life” format, offering a glimpse into the vibrant skate and alternative culture that thrived in Opatija during the late ’90s. It’s a unique document of those two summers, particularly ’97, when the scene was alive and kicking.
The film’s soundtrack is a perfect reflection of the time, featuring music from local Croatian acts:

This is more than just a skate video — it’s a cultural record of a time when Opatija was at the heart of the alternative scene. The projection will be screened in loop.
