Kulturní Doom / Javier Varillas

The Knedlo Zelo Wear crew wander through socialist-era “kulturní domy” across Czech towns — spaces once built for order and civic function. Today, these plazas of granite and exposed concrete have become playgrounds. Through Varillas’ lens, skateboarding reclaims the monumental architecture, pushing against both past control and present neoliberal neglect. Featuring Tonda Záhorka, Štěpán Janda, Vojta Freitag, Javier Varillas, Michal Majer, and Kuba Novotný, Kulturní Doom becomes more than a skate film: it’s a meditation on how history’s fixed forms can be cracked open by movement, turning control into possibility.
