Blois-Sans-Soif / Aymeric Nocus

Vodnjan / Astra / 18 / 9 / 2026 / 20:20 / Film

Mostly filmed from 2021 to 2026, the video explores the relationship between skateboarders in Blois, France, and their changing environment. Once impractical in a straightforward way, the small historic city shifted in the 2020’s as gentrification let smooth, but sterile textures take over the old organic grounds, remarkable architecture get erased for modern redevelopment, and most of downtown grow privatized, killing most public activity. Here, defunct locations and their replacements coexist on a single timeline, alongside older archives and reinterpreted graffiti, questioning temporality and permanence. Wheels meeting cobblestones on shifting grounds, set to echo Richard Bartz’s relentless beat.
