Six stair – An Evol­u­tion in Filmmaking

Under the Six Stair monik­er, Rick Charnoski and Coan Buddy Nich­ols have been mak­ing skate films since 1998 in an effort of storytelling, aim­ing at show­cas­ing the vari­ous obscure per­son­al­it­ies and spots around the world in a “cut-and-paste, DIY style” even­tu­ally cul­min­at­ing via their latest pro­duc­tion to date.

This event is a once-in-a-life­time oppor­tun­ity to embark and glide along the coast of this sin­gu­lar evol­u­tion through­out the dec­ades, read­ing the collective’s his­tory via dir­ect inter­ac­tion and the dis­play of a sample of their work, from Fruit of the vine (1999) to Warm Blood (in post pro­duc­tion). Samples of films from the Six stair archive will be shown and discussed.

A movie that was made in the same way we make skate movies.
