Javi­er Varil­las and The Land of the Long White Cloud

The Land of the Long White Cloud is the new­est audi­ovisu­al offer­ing by Spain-born, Prague-based skate­boarder and inde­pend­ent film­maker Javi­er Varil­las, who in Feb­ru­ary 2023 took advant­age of a once-in-a-life­time oppor­tun­ity by organ­iz­ing a self-fun­ded two-week skate trip in far-faraway New Zea­l­and where his Czech com­rades Michal Majer, Tomáš Kohout, Kuba Hor­uta, and Štěpán Janda were tem­por­ar­ily living.

Michal, Tom, and Kuba quit their job to embark on the trip, where­as Javi­er flew from Prague to Auck­land, a thirty-two-hour and three-flight jour­ney. This video doc­u­ments their unfor­get­table exper­i­ence through­out the astound­ing land­scapes of the North Island and the incred­ible skate­able ter­rain of Auck­land and Wellington.
